Diesels 6th Birthday

I felt pretty bad for poor little Diesel this year. His birthday fell right at the beginning of the Corona Virus pandemic. Since Jed was brand new baby still we were taking extra precautions to keep all of us healthy and free from the virus. Grandma and Grandpa Nield were the only visitors to drop by on his birthday. But he had lots of phone calls from Grandma and Grandpa Dimond (singing Happy Birthday) also from Aunt Alese and Oakley and Quincey, and From Uncle Jeff and Aunt Madie , and then at the end of the day Rylee and Aunt Amy and Teegan called and sang Happy Birthday. We tried to make it fun around the house and he played outside most of the day. He got a basketball hoop for his birthday and he was so excited to shoot hoops all day. His birthday dinner request was roasting hot dogs outside in the firepit. He loves any meal that is prepared and eaten outside. He also requested smores for dessert (which we did) but we also made sure to bake him a yummy banana cake, too! He is so special to us and a very big part of the happiness that we have in our family. We can always count on him to be happy and easy going. He has really done so well in school this year and loves the social aspect of school. He has become quite the athlete this year- wanting to try every sport that has a flyer sent home from school. He did great for his first year of wrestling and really enjoyed basketball as well. He was begging to sign up for LaCrosse but it was right when the baby was due and I wasnt going to be able to take him to practices and games. He is very loving and kind but also really loves to tease and pester Briggs (which can make Me crazy sometimes) we sure love you D!

It is also very fitting that there is a picture of him sitting on the counter, because that is where this boy spends the majority of his days.
