The Christmas Spirit

Its become a tradition that my family goes to the Kurt Bestor concert in Salt Lake City every Christmas. Well this last weekend we got to go and enjoy his amazing talents! He is such a great performer and it always gets us in the Christmas spirit. We left saturday morning, and made a few stops to shop at Tai Pan, RC Willey, and the Gateway mall. Mark and I filled the bed of the truck with a new mirror, and a crib (finally). After all of our shopping was done, we went to the hotel and got ready for the concert. Driving to the concert took forever because of all the traffic in SLC, but we all made it on time. We got to sit right in the very middle and pretty close to the front-we had awesome seats. This was Marks first time going to a Kurt Bestor concert, and he loved it. There are so many instruments up on stage and so much going on all the time- it is so amazing. Kurt had some guests on the stage with him too; they were bell ringers that were these really young kids, but they did such and amazing job, they had so many different sizes of bells. (who knew all you need are some bells to have great christmas music) The concert got over at about eleven, and we went back to the hotel and had some hot cocoa and relaxed. I can't get over how pretty all of the Christmas lights are in SLC and how pretty temple square is.
Sunday morning, we got to eat brunch with santa at the Little America hotel. This brunch isn't just any brunch though; its a buffet from 10-2, and they have about six HUGE tables stuffed full of food. Each table has different food on it, one has sea food, one has all the meats you could choose from, one has salads and fruits, one has desserts, one has all breakfast foods, one has omlets that they will make you however you want. Then they have a big piano in the middle of the room with a lady that really knows her stuff on the piano, so you just get to sit around this gorgeous christmas tree and eat all you want and listen to great music all morning. We were all stuffed by the time we left, but it was so worth it. After the brunch buffet, it was time to make our way back home. The trip was soooo much fun, and I am so glad my parents took us and shared that memory with us. Thanks Dad and Mom, we love you.
